WHY TEN, WHY CITIES?

WHY CITIES?

Over 50% of people live in cities now, but that number is growing so quickly (about a million a week all over the world) it’ll probably be around 80 or 90% of us within just the next 40 years. Better future cities are imperative, from both environmental and social perspectives and we simply cannot afford to exclude kids’ inspiration from their own future urban environments any longer.

WHY TEN YEARS OLD?

Today, a third of the world are under fifteen.  There is a window of opportunity in kids older than about eight, and before reaching puberty, where they are enthusiastic, creative and often very talented at something, but have not yet become distracted by puberty or steered away from their passions by our outdated school system.

That creativity, talent and enthusiasm is an under utilized and much needed global resource that can both inspire better cities now and the better future cities they will build.
