Hi all. We’ve been a bit slow with posting news but anyway we’re here now. So we held the first demo of our game concept for a packed room of groovers and shakers in the fabulous surrounds of 92Y ( http://www.92y.org/ ) last month. It was a blast.
We had over 30 people there from education, media, community building,
business, including New York Times Learning, Majora Carter Consulting group, Virgin Unite, Scaresdale Middle school, Renaissance Leadership Academy, Middle School 322, MIT Fab Labs, EDC’s NYC Centre for Children and Technology, Bob & Veronique Pittman and our wonderful games developer guru and advisor Matt Costello and more, and the whole night was captured by fantastic film-maker Andrew Mudge and extra-ordinary photographer Joanna Morris.
As well as being a really fun evening it was hugely useful for us to get feedback from so many of our interest groups in the same place at the same time, so a big THANK YOU to all those who took time out of their busy schedules to be there – much appreciated.
Read what D.C.Vito and Emily Long – specialists over at the LAMP in NYC had to say after the demo – http://www.thelampnyc.org/2009/05/08/mega-city-hero/ .
We of course must also send a big “The TEN Project” shout out to PENHOUSE (http://www.penhouse.ie/flash.html ) our most excellent design partners who did nothing short of an amazing job on our game branding and design. We were overwhelmed by positive comments from the audience about their work and basically can’t say enough good things about them, we love you Penhouse you rock! Check them out!
Another big thanks to our mobile crew at The Hyper Factory who built a mobile demo for us for the evening. Another amazing bunch of talented media people – check them out! ( http://www.thehyperfactory.com/Company/About )
And of course a big thank you to our very gracious host Fretta Reitzes and all the folks at The 92nd Street Y. Thanks so much for a fabulous evening.
In other news we are ramping up for the next stage of development and NEED YOUR HELP! We have a great opportunity to secure financial support for prototyping and would love you to help us. If you’ve been following The TEN Project story since the beginning or have just joined please tell us why you’re
tuned in. Post a comment on the site, leave a message on Facebook or send us an email directly to thetenproject@gmail.com. Tell us who you are, what you do and
what benefit you think The TEN Project and Mega City Hero has to offer you, your children, your students, your colleagues, your city oh go on then, the world. We’d love to hear from you.
More news coming soon – watch this space!
